Overview

VANKKA Classic is our reference roof system: long steel pans joined by an upstanding seam that is closed mechanically on site, with every fixing hidden inside the joint. Nothing penetrates the weathering surface, so the roof has no exposed fastener to work loose, no gasket to perish and no line of screw heads to telegraph across the elevation.

The pan is rolled to the length of the run wherever transport allows, which removes transverse laps — historically the first place a cold roof leaks. Clips allow the sheet to move as it heats and cools without loading the substructure, an unremarkable detail until you have watched a rigidly fixed roof work itself apart over twenty Nordic winters.

Because the system is specified as an assembly, the trims, flashings, clips and sealing components are drawn together and supplied together. What arrives on site is a roof, not a pile of parts that happen to be the same colour.

No exposed fasteners

Every clip and screw sits inside the seam, under cover. The weathering surface is unbroken from ridge to eaves.

Cut to the run

Pans are produced to the length of the roof plane where transport permits, eliminating transverse laps entirely.

Free thermal movement

Sliding clips let the sheet expand and contract across its full length without transferring load into the structure.

Low pitch capability

The mechanically closed seam extends the system below the pitch limits of a lapped, exposed-fixed roof.
